Erica Booker – Suzuki Piano Lessons, Sydney

DSCM, LMusA, AMusA, Dip Spec Mus Ed, FCSME, Dip Suzuki Teaching, Suzuki Teacher Trainer & Suzuki ECE Educator, Founding Member of Pianists for Alternatively Sized Keyboards (PASK)

Erica Booker is a Pianist and Educator, specialising in Suzuki Piano Lessons and Suzuki Teacher Training, based in Sydney NSW.

She became a Suzuki piano teacher in 1978, and has dedicated her life to this wonderful method of teaching music. She has lectured around the world, teaching and mentoring others in the Suzuki philosophy. She is a Suzuki Piano Teacher Trainer and also pioneered Suzuki Early Childhood Education Music classes. Her dynamic studio has students across the spectrum from age 3 to advanced, tertiary, and trainee teachers.

Over the years, Erica has gathered many valuable resources, and it is the aim for this site to become a hub for Erica’s teaching resources. You will find information for Suzuki Piano Students and their Parents, and Suzuki Teacher Training Resources here.

Being a pianist with smaller hands, Erica is an advocate for smaller sized piano keyboards. Her music studio has four pianos each with a different sized keyboard, which is unique in the world. She is active in researching the physical and creative benefits of small piano keyboards, and how to reduce tension and injuries for pianists. Erica and her unique collection of pianos have been instrumental (pardon the pun) in researching the use and benefits of small pianos in Australia.
